• Systematically organise symposia at professional meetings of IUGG member associations as well as at national and international meetings of geophysical and related scientific societies.
• Establish a web site to act as a clearinghouse for information on meetings, short contributions, etc. If there is sufficient interest we could also establish a listserver.
• Facilitate scientific proposals that utilise multi-disciplinary skills to assist with risk reduction measures for urban areas.
• Communicating the issues to the public. This will be done by liaising with large-circulation popular magazines such as National Geographic and by organising special symposia at Science Festivals (e.g., during European Science Open Forums, or AAAS Annual meetings).
